Description
A full walkover survey was conducted following an initial desk-based assessment by Jennifer Robertson (see EHG3188). The whole area was walked but particular attention was paid to the proposed areas of new planting. Little evidence was found for prehistoric occupation. However two areas of shieling settlements were found as well as an extensive rig system. Various land divisions were observed relating to the post-medieval township. <1>
