Full Description
A walkover survey was conducted by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1996 for a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme application.
Site No: 32.
Site name: Monadh Gleann Uige
Description: A circular dished hollow lies immediately N of the rig enclosure at site 14. It is not clear whether this is the solitary remains of a prehistoric roundhouse or the remnants of a turf walled cattle pound known as a buachaille. It probably predates the rig cultivation.
Recommendation: This feature will require to be protected from planting and tree regeneration.<1>
