Full Description
A mound near Broadford Airfield, Skye. It was recorded during a walkover survey in 2004 by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey (AALS) in advance of the proposed expansion of the Broadford Airfield. Site 4: A partially grassed over, irregular mound of large boulders, beach pebbles and earth. The mound measures circa 12.00m in diameter and stands, in part, to circa 2.00m high. The mound does not look ancient and is probably a tip of material dumped during the construction of the airport runway. <1>
The site is just about visible in vertical aerial photography. <2>
