Full Description

A large mound of irregular shape was found during field investigation. On NE and NW sides of the mound are 2 rectangular structures or building foundations.

Situated on a slight rise in a valley bottom, and adjacent to an area of narrow rig, is a complex of stone-built structures, turf-covered and somewhat obscured by later added stone clearance. There are two contiguous wag-type homesteads and in the angle between them is the outline of a circular enclosure about 6m diameter, but no definite structural details are discernible.
The homestead to west is the better preserved and measures internally 14m NE-SW by 4m within a wall 2.0m estimated thickness and 0.6m maximum height above the present, debris-choked interior; an inner facing of roughly coursed blocks can be seen occasionally. Within are 3 upright slabs in line standing to 0.6m. The entrance is almost certainly from the SW.
The other homestead is very ill-defined; stone clearance has been added, and the NE wall is truncated by ploughing. It measures very approximately, 20.0m NW-SE by 4.0m inside a wall of uncertain breadth. Within are four upright slabs showing to a maximum 0.7m of which the two northerly are possibly fortuitous. The entrance is most likely from the narrow SE end, where there are indications of a further structure.
Any signs of associated agriculture would have been destroyed by later activity.
