Full Description

On a west facing hill slope is a settlement of 5 simple hut circles of similar type ('A' - 'E'). 'A' and 'B' are turf and heather covered and have been built into the slope in W. Their position overlooks that of the other huts. 'A' is 8.5m idiameter within a low wall spread to 2m; 'B' immediately to E is 4.5m in diameter within a wall spread to 1.5m. Both huts have entrances in SSE. Huts 'C' - 'E' are heather covered with respective internal sizes of 7m N-S by 6m, 7.5m diameter and 9m diameter. The latter is the most clearly defined with a wall spread to 2m and 0.4m high. The entrances of simple form are in S or E arcs.
The ground in vicinity of the huts in undulating, with dry, heathery hillocks and rises separated by marshy stretches. Sporadic clearance heaps, occasional lynchets and one or two field walls occur on or at the base of these dry rises which have been formerly cultivated, but no measurable plots are discernible.
