('A': NC 9259 4845) Unannotated circle OS 6"map, (1961)
Centred at NC 927 483 around foot of SW facing slope there is a settlement of 4 hut circles ('A' - 'D').
'A', slightly scooped into the slope, is 8.5m diameter within a low turf covered wall spread to 1.5m; the entrance is in S. Two outer facing stones survive in SE. 'B' and 'C' are set on small spurs; both are ill defined and survive as platforms. They measure approx 8m and 6.5m diameter respectively within vague walls of indeterminate width; both are ent ered from south. 'D' at the base of the slope lies within an area of heather, its low wall, spread to 1.5m defined by a turf covering. It measures 11.5m in diameter internally with the entrance probably in south. A disturbed patch of ground about 30m N of 'D' is possibly the remains of another hut, or a fortuitous build up of peat.
Except for a few heather and peat covered mounds uphill from 'B', which may be clearance heaps, there is no trace of a field system. The area has a thick overlying blanket of peat.
Surveyed at 1:10000. Visited by OS (J B) 11 May 1977.
