NC75SW 65 7228 5329.

At NC 7228 5329, on end of a spur in a field on W bank of River Naver, are remains of a severely robbed enclosure, probably a homestead. It is oval in plan and measures overall approximately 21m E-W by 15m transversely. It adopts a level stance with a low, peripheral spread of turf covered rubble on the west and north west, and elswhere is delimited by a stony scarp crowning the natural slope; a clear gap in W, the only reasonable approach, indicates an entrance position. There is much tumble at the base of the spur. The wall rubble in the north west is quarried, and the upcast has spilled into the interior; in the edge of the quarry is a transverse setting of 2 earth fast, contiguous slabs, date and purpose unknown. There are traces fo a partition wall or stony bank extending north-south across the interior of the enclosure. Despite the lack of evidence of boulder slab construction and the poor state of the remains the enclosure appears ancient, and quite dissimilar to nearby 18/19th century footings.
