Full Description
NC83SW 15 8303 3215.
At NC 83033215 on a S-facing slope there is a burnt mound. It is turf and heather-covered and roughly crescentic in shape. It measures 9.0m E-W by 7.5m with a height of about 1.0m. A trial excavation produced remains of blackened earth, burnt stones and charcoal. The mound is roughly equidistant between two settlements (NC 83 SW 3, 7 ), and lies within close proximity to an old dried-up water course.
