Full Description
NH76SE 1 7688 6497.
(NH 7688 6497) A small elongated mound 50ft long by 25ft wide, orientated N-S. The mound is 2 1/2ft high and has a thick covering of peat. No stones could be felt on probing.
Information from A A Woodham to OS, 17 September 1954.
The mound, of the approximate dimensions described by Woodham, lies at the edge of a cultivated field adjacent to an area of rough pasture. It has been added to by stone clearance, and is covered by grass and not peat as stated above. It's original purpose could not be ascertained. Visited by OS (R B) 13 January 1966.
An amorphous turf-covered mound of indeterminate period and purpose as described by Bruce and Woodham.
