Full Description
Centred 193 902.
In area cented at NH 193902, on N bank of Allt Raon a'Chroisg, there are remains of 6 rectangular dry-stone buildings, max height 1.2m.
On S bank of river can be seen grass-covered footings of 19 shielings. The latter vary in size and shape from 6m x 2.5m with rounded ends, to a circular structure 2.5m diameter. No name is known locally. (Visible on APs OS/60/55:060-1)
Visited by OS (N K B) 6 October 1964.
4 unroofed shieling-huts are depicted on first edition of OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire and Cromartyshire 1881, sheet xxii). 6 unroofed shieling-huts, one of which is sub-divided, and location of a further 21 shieling-huts are shown on current edition of OS 1:10560 map (1968).
