Full Description

In area centred at NG 983 917, and at 500ft OD. on the sheltered southern slope of hill above Lochan na Cairill there are the remains of a hut circle, measuring 7m internal diameter with walls 1.5m wide by 0.3m high. No entrance is apparent as a small modern yard overlies hut circle. In immediate vicinity there are the greatly mutilated remains of an enclosure, constructed of single large stones, which was probably contemporary with hut circle. A relatively modern earth and stone bank nearby is contemporary with small dry-stone buildings 0.7m high, in area. In addition to the above features there are the amorphous remains of five shielings.
