The considerable remains of a crofting township, comprising houses and ancillary buildings and structures within a complex of field walls. Several of houses have one wall formed by living rock as they are built into steep rocky outcrops which drop steeply to the sea. The settlement is divided into four by forestry roads.

A township comprising fourteen unroofed buildings is depicted on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1880, sheet cx). Ten unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
