Full Description

A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.

The steep, grassed slope above the pier at the east side of the bay has been revetted by a wall which leans back against the slope and is constructed from boulders eight courses high (1.5-2 m) and four courses long.<1>
