Full Description
A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.
At the base of a steep rocky slope at the east of the bay is a dry-stone dyke standing to 1.1 m high. This is built using irregularly-shaped boulders, 7-8 courses high, with turf used to bond the upper courses. Some sections of this dyke have tumbled down onto the terrace below. <1>
