The crofting township of Portskerra, to the north of Melvich, Sutherland.
The layout of the proposed crofting township is shown on a map dated to c.1819 in the Sutherland Estates collection at the National Library of Scotland. It also shows the layout of the existing township at the time. <1>
This township comprises sixty-seven roofed buildings as depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet x). <2>
