Full Description

A former RAF and WAAF accomodation camp, part of Tain Airfield. Some concrete bulding bases appear to survive, especially at the northern end of the site, though vegetation may be concealing other remains.

Detailed plans of the airfield dating to 1945-6 are held by the Royal Air Force Museum. A digital copy (albeit undated) is held in the HER collections. The camp is shown and labelled 'R.A.F Sleeping Quarters' and 'W.A.A.F Site' on the plan. <1>
