Full Description

A walkover survey and desk-based assessment for the National Trust estate at Torridon was carried out by J Wordsworth and J Harden.

On the east-facing lower slopes of the hillside, above the cast iron fence, is an area of very slight rigs running down slope, the area being defined by slight enclosing dykes and by being bracken infested. To the south is another area of rigs. MM identifies the north area as achachdnean, the south area as feannagan. There is at least one wee stone structure just beyond the cultivated area, c1.5m in diameter. To the west is an area of peat cuttings and MM recorded at least four peat stack bases in the vicinity. <1>
