Full Description
A walkover survey and desk-based assessment for the National Trust estate at Torridon was carried out by J Wordsworth and J Harden.
Following the path along the north river-bank eastwards beyond the present settlement of Newton there are the slight remains of four turf structures or shieling structures or peat stack bases. Wending its way through this area and northeastwards is a dyke with an apparent boulder core covered with turf/peat. It is possible that some of the structures marked on the 1837 plan of Torridon Estate are those recorded here. <1>
