Full Description
The former township of Drumvaich, to the south of the River Einig. It is shown on Roy's Military Survey map as a cluster of six buildings surrounded by cultivated fields. <1>
By the time of the OS 1st Edition 6" map most, if not all, of the original buildings had disappeared and while areas of open fields are shown, they are partly overlain by a sub-rectangular enclosure, presumably for sheep. On the inside eastern wall of this is a small building, presumably a shepherd's bothy. Vertical aerial photography shows areas of better quality grass, equating to the open areas on the OS 1st Edition map and within these areas the remains of rig and furrow are visible. <2> <3>
