Full Description
The former farmstead of Lower Westfield, Nigg. It is shown on the OS 1st Edition map as a dispersed group of five buildoings with the southernmost on a southwest-northeast orientation appearing to be the farmhouse. The northernmost, a long narrow building, is shown adjacent to a small pond (to its south) and although a burn runs to its immediate north there are no indications that it had been a mill, although this location would probably have been suitable. <1>
None of the buildings now remain standing, but the footings of at least two, including the probable farmhouse and a long building to its northeast are visible in SEPA LiDAR and on vertical aerial photographs. <2> <3>
