Full Description
A walkover survey and desk-based assessment for the National Trust estate at Torridon was carried out by J Wordsworth and J Harden between 1996 and 2002.
This well-defined enclosure of good grassland suggests it may once have been cultivated, the evidence being strongest for this at the N of the enclosure which is less boggy. To the N & E of the main enclosed area are at least 2 other enclosures. They are sited in rocky terrain and are presumably stock enclosures rather than areas for cultivation. The boundaries of these enclosures are ill-defined and may have been partly robbed. The drystone walls in this area show a sequence of development suggesting a long period of use. <1>
