Full Description

A walkover survey and desk-based assessment for the National Trust estate at Torridon was carried out by J Wordsworth and J Harden between 1996 and 2002.

Two lengths of a heavily robbed out dyke run approximately E/W on the c190m OD contour line. The east stretch measures only c1 0m long while the west stretch which ends c70m east of the burn is only c30m long. However it is considered probable that these fragments linked to form a boundary between the two burns. The dyke survives as lines of stones and turf spread to c1 m and c0.3m high and are presumed to have been of largely turf construction, later robbed for fuel. <1>
