Full Description
A walkover survey and desk-based assessment for the National Trust estate at Torridon was carried out by J Wordsworth and J Harden between 1996 and 2002.
At the base of a precipitous burn are 2 grassy mounds with hollow centres, measuring c3m by c5m and c2m by c1m. They appear as much more verdant than the surrounding coarse grassland. Not recorded on the 1837 survey. They may be the remains of shieling mounds but would appear to lie in a very vulnerable position in relation to floods and rock fall. They may therefore be natural features. A large boulder has fallen into the larger hollow. <1>
