Full Description
A small pen to the west of the Allt Na Peighinn, Strath, Skye.
The site was recorded by M Wildgoose in 1999 in advance of a proposed woodland creation scheme. At the foot of an east facing, conglomerate, outcrop, approximately 200 metres to the west of the path, are the disturbed remains of a small, stone pen. The pen is partly hidden by the heather and measures 3.20 metres out from the rock face and 2.50 metres wide. The walls of the pen are much collapsed and cannot be accurately measured. A narrow door opening, 0.40 metre wide, lies at the west end of them pen facing away from the cliff face. <1>
The feature is possibly visible in vertical aerial photography lying c.33m to the northwest of the given grid reference. <2>
