Full Description
Two small pens at Tòrr Mòr, Strath, Skye.
The sites were recorded by M Wildgoose in 1999 in advance of a proposed woodland creation scheme. At the foot of a west facing outcrop, on the northwest flank of Torr Mor are the remains of 2 small stone pens. These pens, lie 18m apart, are identical in ground plan and measure 1.8m in diameter over walls 0.50m thick. There are no visible door openings. The northern pen still stands to 0.80m high, the southern pen is reduced to a single course of foundation stones. <1>
These two features are not visible at or near the given grid reference on vertical aerial photography [IS-L 13/10/205].
