The probable township of Dalamein. <1>
A walkover survey and desk-based assessment was undertaken by A Coombs at Dalnamein for the Sutherland Longhouse Project, a community engagement project hosted by Historylinks Museum, Dornoch in 2019-20.
Site 40: The dry stone walled sheep fank makes up part of the east wall of enclosure 36 and was probably built at the same time as the enclosure. It has 4 compartments and at least 3 entrances and would have been used for sorting and handling sheep. It may have a cobbled floor but presently the interior is covered with turf. <2>
