Full Description
A possible dun or chambered cairn to the northeast of Culbokie on the Black Isle. The feature is shown as an area of rough ground on the OS 1st Edition map and it is now tree covered but in SEPA LiDAR data it appears as a circular-sub-circular earthwork c.29m in diameter. The centre appears sunken, so could either be the interior of a dun with collapsed walls or a chambered cairn with a collapsed or even excavated chamber. Alternatively it could be a large clearance cairn, but even if a dun or chambered cairn it is likely to have some clearanace material. It is located in a prominent position when viewed from the surrounding area. <1>
