Full Description

The approximate site of the former settlement of Liansettbeg, Strathoykel. It is shown on Roy's Military Survey map as a small cluster of buildings within what appear to be indications of two areas of possible walling close to where an unnamed burn enters the Kyle of Sutherand. This may equate with the area of a steep rise on the east side of the burn where it is now crossed by the modern A837 road which has the appearance of a fortified site, but which may be an area of quarrying. <1>
