Full Description

Remains of a house and attached enclosure to the southwest of Hamara Lodge. The features are visible in vertical aerial photography but are not shown on the OS 1st Edition map. The house measures c.12m x 5m and may have had a porch on its eastern elevation. The enclosure is sub-rectangular, measuring 22m x 12m and msay have been a kaleyard. There are slight indications that the house may sit on a platform, or perhaps the remains of an earlier structure. There are traces of what may be an earlier boundary dyke just to the north, to the south of the current dyke shown on the OS 1st Edition map. <1> <2>
