Full Description
A rapid walk-over archaeological survey was carried out in 1999 by J. Wordsworth as part of the preparation for a planned Community Woodland in Knoydart. <1>
Site 3: On the north side of the Allt Miolairighe below the modern road and before the burn reaches the flat ground extending towards the Inverie River, are the remains of a collapsed drystone dyke. This does not extend into the flatter area and was presumably continued as a turf dyke. There are very slight remains of former cultivation in this flat ground now largely obscured by vegetation. These presumably formed part of the cultivated ground of Miolary and were probably abandoned early in the 19th century. <1>
NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
