Full Description

A rapid walk-over archaeological survey was carried out in 1999 by J. Wordsworth as part of the preparation for a planned Community Woodland in Knoydart.

Site 19: 18m east of the rock outcrop here and between the road and the beach is a rectangular arrangement of large upright boulders measuring 10m by 2.5m and aligned E/W. From its size and location this is probably the remains of a kelp kiln, probably in use in the early 19th century. <1>
