Full Description
A rapid walk-over archaeological survey was carried out in 1999 by J. Wordsworth as part of the preparation for a planned Community Woodland in Knoydart. <1>
Site 8: At the junction of two modern deer fences are the remains of a drystone dyked enclosure measuring c25m by 18-20 wide. The west end includes a massive boulder. The enclosure is largely rectangular except for the east wall beyond the modern fence which makes the enclosure trapezoid. No dykes or structures were noted in association with this feature. It was probably an animal enclosure. <1>
NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
