Full Description
A rapid walk-over archaeological survey was carried out in 1999 by J. Wordsworth as part of the preparation for a planned Community Woodland in Knoydart. <1>
Site 4: As drawn on the current OS map are the remains of a largely turf dyke running NE/SW. It survives to a height of less than 0.5m and is spread to 2m, having probably been partly robbed as a source of fuel. It was not shown on the earlier OS maps, but probably formed the head dyke for the farm of Scottas and would have been built in the mid to late 18th century. <1>
