Full Description

Two hut circles at Grudie, near Rogart. The features have previously been shown on older historic maps from the 1st edition onwards as an enclosure, ostensibly associated with the surrounding abandoned Grudie township. On modern OS mapping they are now shown as circular features and labelled 'Hut circles'. They are visible as two conjoined circular earthworks in a roughly north-south figure of 8 configuration in vertical aerial photographs. The northern circle is c.12m in diameter and the southern circle is c. 12.5m in diameter. <1> <2>

They may have originated as hut circles which were then re-used as enclosures subsequently [IS-L 14/07/2025].
