Full Description

This site has been thought to be one of the two hut circle sites mentioned in SMR NG31NE0004 (see MHG4899).

NMRS Notes:
NG31NE 11 3990 1671.

About 500m due N (sic) of the cave at Creag a' Chapuill on the flat ground below Carn Mor at about 70m OD is a boulder built twinning pen which measures roughly 1m in diameter. A possible entrance 0.25m wide lies in the SE.
Visited by M Nicolson 3 June 1989.

There are two hut circles which have been later subdivided to form a boat shaped structure and a yard. However the grid reference is unclear and I cannot be certain this is the same site.
JW visited in the company of M.Wildgoose, S.Birch and M.Carmichael on 30/5/02.

NOTE: It is not at all clear whether Wood, Wildgoose, Birch and Carmichael actually saw hut circles in the vicinity of MHG6451 during their site visit in 2002, as unfortunately there is no formal, detailed, description nor any annotated map to corroborate that. Because of vegetation cover no hut circles can be seen on any available vertical aerial photographs at that location [ISL 29/04/2025].
