Full Description
A rapid walk-over survey of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme application at North Applecross, Wester Ross, was undertaken by C. Dagg.
Site no. S2: Area of cultivation, cairns, lazybeds. The cultivation area runs from the shore to the base of small cliffs where there is a spread of natural woodland. Partway down is a steep eroded bank, the lazybeds are between this and the shore. Above the bank are fields formed by the clearing of stones into walls and large linear clearance cairns. There are no obvious buildings or structures, but there is a small boat port on the shore in the NW corner (see MHG64403). <1>
