Full Description

A rapid walk-over survey of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme application at North Applecross, Wester Ross, was undertaken by C. Dagg.

Site no. F14: Structure (?) Built out into the Allt na Marachd so that the water flows under it, is an angled section of walling. It extends out from the north bank for 3.5m to a midstream boulder, then turns to run parallel to the flow of water, though with a slight curve, for a further 4.6m. This midstream section is better preserved, measuring 0.8m in width and standing a maximum of 0.75m high. In the burn between the wall and the bank is a broad, flat, thin stone which may have formed part of some type of superstructure.<1>

NGR adjusted based on 2009 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
