Full Description

The remains of a boundary bank were recorded during an archaeological walkover survey by AOC Archaeology Group in 2015 of the proposed site for a hydro scheme at Uppat Estate, near Brora, Sutherland. Site 2: The grass-covered remains of a boulder and turf dyke are spread up to 1m wide. It has been mostly robbed away. <1>

The short length of dyke, as recorded in 2015, is just about visible in vertical aerial photography. However, it appears to have continued further north before turning westwards towards a small north-south burn. It may originally have formed an enclosure between the smaller burn and one of the channels of the Allt a' Chairn to the south. <2>
