Full Description

A rapid walk-over survey of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme application at North Applecross, Wester Ross, was undertaken by C. Dagg.

Site no. K2; Shieling Huts. Where the valley of the Allt an t'Srathain broadens out after passing through a gorge, five round-ended rectangular dwellings and several storage structures and clearance cairns. The NW boundary of the shieling area is defined by a low turf and stone dyke. All structures are on the north of the river. <1>

Note; there is a probable error in the recorded grid reference as this group of shielings is due north of the report NGR and matches the description in the report. (TB 16/6/25)
