Full Description

A desk based assessment and rapid walk-over archaeological survey was carried out at Torroble, Lairg by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1999.

Site No.7 : On top of a natural hillock is a water-filled hollow 4m in diameter. This is unlikely from its situation to be a natural feature unless it was caused by tree throw. Interpretation of this as a deliberate man-made feature is difficult because there is no obvious function, or even point of access to it.
Recommendation: No special protection is required for this feature.<1>

Note: Site not visible on aerial photographs so location based on grid coordinates. (TB 11/6/25).
