Full Description

An archaeological survey was undertaken by Headland Archaeology in 1999 for the WGS proposal at Bunloit Hill, Drumnadrochit.

Location: Balbeg
Class: Dyke
Land use: Rough grazing
Description: Remains of an old head dyke run parallel with a modern post-and-wire fence, 300 m to the north-west of Balbeg. It is built from earth and stone with a steep north-west facing side and a more gentle slope to the south-east. The dyke is spread up to 2.5 m wide and 1.5 m high.
Condition: The dyke is fairly stable and shows no evidence of recent disturbance. <1>
