Full Description

A probable shieling hut at Allt Caol (Erchless Burn, Strath Glass). The site is visible on vertical aerial photography as a small sub-rectangular feature measuring c.5m x 4m with a small enclosure, probably a pen, measuring 8m x 5m on its northwest side. The features are less distinct than another similar site that lies c.10m to the northwest (see MHG64301). Both of these lie on the northeast side of a small area of rig cultivation (see MHG64303), presumbaly associated with the possible clearance cairn at its southern end (see MHG62825). <1>
