Full Description

Linear ditch and bank aligned N-S which runs southward to a pond containing a canalised island at 69m OD about 50m north of River Black Water. The enclosure depicted on the 1st edition OS 6-inch map in the same places appears to be the stone/turf bank which was later augmented and adapted for use in the ditch/bank form of this site. <1> <2>

NOTE: the 'canalised island' was clearly originally a section of the same bank and ditch to the north that was separated off when the pond was dug [IS-L 30/05/2025].
