Full Description
The remains of possible farmstead at Dalharrold, Strathnaver. The remains comprise fragmentary stone walls measuring c.17m x 4m with a distinct square room or cell at its west end lying to the southwest of Dalharrold, close to the east bank of the River Naver. It appears to have partly incorporated or built out of an earlier structure which may have been a hut circle (see MHG64259) and is visible in vertical aerial photography taken in 2009 and 2023. A possible square enclosure lies immediately off its southwest corner. A boulder dyke (see MHG64261), which may be earlier and associated with the nearby hut circles winds its way from the western end of the building to the south and then southwest towards the river. <1> <2>
