Full Description
A possible walled garden associated with the original Ardmore House. A roughly rectangular enclosure, with one rounded corner to the north is shown on the OS 1st edition map to the northwest of the original house at Ardmore (see MHG21384). The feature is clearly visible in SEPA LiDAR data as a raised platform, which would be consistent with a higher ground level built up through years of kitchen gardening behind walls. No walls now remain. The LiDAR data also shws a slightly lower area in the southwest corner adjacent to the current track measuring c.10m x 7m which may have been the site of a greenhouse, potting shed and/or gardener's bothy. <1> <2>
