Full Description

An enclosure at Breakish, Skye. It is an earthwork bank of an elongated 'C' -shape orientated roughly northwest-southeast and measures c.15m x 14m located with its completely open southeast end against a scarp which slopes to the southeast. It is shown on the OS 1st Edition 25 inch map and is visible in vertical aerial photography taken in 2005 ('Millennium Map' series) through to 2023. It was presumably a stock enclosure although the open southeast end would not have made it very effective <1> <2> <3> <4>
