Full Description

A walkover survey was carried out by Cannich Archaeological Services in 1999 of parts of the RSPB reserve at Corrimony prior to tree-planting.

Site 8: Enclosure. Situated on a flat, boggy terrace above the River Enrick, north of hut circle no.7. Rectangular enclosure, with external dimensions 12 m NE - SW x 10 m, internal dimensions 8 m x 6 m. Maximum height of walls 20 cm. Some stones can be seen or felt under the heather-covered walls; the interior vegetation is heather and wetland grasses. The enclosure is very poorly preserved and unclear, particularly on the NW side. Its relationship to no. 7 (hut circle and clearance cairns complex) cannot be determined. <1>
