Full Description

A walkover survey was carried out by Cannich Archaeological Services in 1999 of parts of the RSPB reserve at Corrimony prior to tree-planting.

Site 3: Wall. Situated in the northeast corner of the area of clearance cairns surrounding the hut circle (no. 1), running northwest from the road which has cut the end of it. There is no trace of it on the other (east) side of the road. Width 3 m, maximum height 40 cm. It can be traced for about 22 m. About 3 m before the northwest end there is a gap 3 m wide where a recent quad track goes through it (although this track may have used a pre-existing gap). The wall consists of stones, sometimes visible under a cover of heather and bracken. Its relationship to the hut circle / clearance cairn complex no. 1 cannot be demonstrated, but they may be contemporary. <1>
