Full Description

A walkover survey was carried out by Cannich Archaeological Services in 1999 of parts of the RSPB reserve at Corrimony prior to tree-planting.

Site 2: Structure. Situated just west of the road, and about 40 m ENE of the hut circle (MHG 2770), within the area of clearance cairns surrounding the hut circle. Rectangular structure, possibly the remains of a building. External dimensions 5 m NE - SW x 4 m, internal dimensions 3 m x 2 m. Maximum height of walls 20 cm. Walls are of stone, sometimes visible under heather cover; vegetation in the interior is mainly grass. It may be contemporary with and part of the hut circle / clearance cairn complex, but it is impossible to be certain. <1>
