Full Description

A large roughly circular earthwork at Midtown, Inverasdale, to the northeast of the former schoolhouse (see MHG16350). It is shown as a triangular area of rough ground on the OS 1st Edition map. On vertical aerial photography taken between 2004 ('Millennium Map' series) and 2021 it appears as a more circular, raised earthwork c.20m in diameter situated on levl ground on a spur of higher ground on the coast formed to the west by the Inverasdale River. It lies in a prominent position and could be the remains of a broch or a chambered cairn. <1> <2> <3> <4>
